1. What is the EV 1-2-3 Charge program?

EV 1-2-3 Charge is the complimentary charging program provided by Ford Motor Company to eligible customers residing in California and Maryland who purchase or lease a 2016 model year Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid vehicle after October 1, 2015 and before October 1, 2016, from an authorized Ford EV Certified dealership. EV 1-2-3 Charge provides unlimited* four-hour sessions of complimentary level 2 (240V) charging at over 500 participating NRG EVgo and SemaConnect public chargers for three years, which is the length of a typical lease, with a single card. Additional fees may apply for connect times in excess of 4 hours, and there is a 60 minute disconnection required between charging sessions.

2. How do I get an EV 1-2-3 Charge access card?

2016 model year Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid customers who provide identification showing a California or Maryland address during the purchase process will receive an EV 1-2-3 Charge Welcome Packet including the access card in the mail 5-10 business days after the purchase/lease date and will have the opportunity to complete registration in the program online at EV123Charge.com to activate the Access Card.

3. What do I have to do to activate my EV 1-2-3 Charge Access Card?

It’s easy. When you receive your EV 1-2-3 Charge card in the mail, just go to EV123charge.com and follow the simple steps. NOTE: to enroll, you will need the last eight characters of your 2016 model year C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and your EV 1-2-3 Charge Access Card serial number (located on the back of the Access Card).

4. What if I do not receive my EV 1-2-3 Charge access card within 2 weeks of my vehicle purchase?

5. How much does an EV 1-2-3 Charge access card cost?

The EV 1-2-3 Charge card is delivered at no cost to the vehicle owner. Upon registration, drivers will be asked to provide a credit card in the event a charge connection exceeds the four hour complimentary charging session or if the disconnect time between charging session is less than 60 minutes and additional fees are assessed.

6. Why do I need to enter a credit card number to enroll if the charging is complimentary?

The Ford EV 1-2-3 Charge program offers unlimited* four hour charging sessions at participating stations. A 60-minute disconnection interval is required between charging sessions to allow other drivers an opportunity to use the charging station. Charging beyond the complimentary 4 hours per charging session, or a repeat session before the 60-minute wait time, will incur additional fees at the rate of $3 per hour.

7. Will my EV 1-2-3 Charge access card expire?

Yes, 3 years, or 36 months, after the purchase date of your vehicle. Customers have the option of subscribing to the NRG EVgo network at the completion of the 3 year complimentary period (NRG EVgo rates/costs apply at the conclusion of the complimentary period. Customers will not be auto-subscribed at the conclusion of the 3 year complimentary period to extend the membership)

8. My home address is not in California or Maryland, how do I get an EV 1-2-3 Charge access card?

Currently, the EV 1-2-3 Charge offer is only available to 2016 model year Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid owners who provide a driver’s license verifying a home address in California or Maryland during the purchase process.

9. What charging networks are participating in EV 1-2-3 Charge?

The current complimentary EV charging network participants are NRG EVgo and SemaConnect. A complete list of nationwide participating charging station locations can be found at ev123charge.com or on the MyFord Mobile† App and website (myfordmobile.com). MyFord Mobile† will highlight participating stations in a unique magenta (pink) icon beginning in December 2015, to make it easier for you to locate complimentary charging locations.

10. Where are EV 1-2-3 Charge stations located?

The EV 1-2-3 Charge Access Card can be used to activate over 500 participating complimentary public EVgo and SemaConnect Level 2 stations throughout the continental United States. Check ev123charge.com or your MyFord Mobile† App and website (myfordmobile.com) to see a map of participating complimentary stations in your area. Locations in MyFord Mobile† will be highlighted magenta (pink) beginning in December 2015 to make it easier for you to find participating complimentary stations.

11. How often can I use my EV 1-2-3 Charge Access Card?

You can use your EV 1-2-3 Charge access card multiple and unlimited* times at day as long as there is a 60 minute disconnection between charging sessions.

12. What if I have two electric vehicles? Can I use one card for both?

The EV 1-2-3 Charge complimentary charging program is an exclusive offer with the purchase or lease of 2016 model year Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid. If you use the EV 1-2-3 Charge card to charge another vehicle, your subscription can be deactivated and your remaining program benefits forfeited.

13. Can everyone in my family use it?

The EV 1-2-3 Charge Access Card is for charging the 2016 model year Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid, so family members can use the same card only for the vehicle with which it is associated. Violation of this provision may result in the deactivation of your card and the forfeiture of your program benefits.

14. Is there an EV 1-2-3 Charge app for my phone?

Yes, MyFord Mobile† will highlight the participating EV 1-2-3 Charge stations with a special magenta (pink) colored icon beginning in December 2015. You can download the app for your iPhone or your Android phone, and your Apple or Android Wear smart watch.

16. What if my vehicle is connected for longer than 4 hours?

Your 2016 model year C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid is capable of being fully charged in approximately 2.5 hours. If the vehicle is not disconnected after the complimentary 4 hour charging session, you will be charged $3.00 per hour thereafter.

17. Will I be charged if my car is done charging in less than 4 hours, but it is still plugged in?

Yes, charging fees will be assessed based on the length of time your car is plugged in, not on how long your vehicle is receiving a charge. Your 2016 model year C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid is capable of being fully charged in approximately 2.5 hours.

18. Will I be automatically charged after 4 hours of Level 2 (240V) charging?

Yes, you will be charged $3.00 an hour for each hour you are plugged in after your four complimentary hours per charging session. A 60-minute disconnection interval is required between charging sessions to allow other plug-in drivers an opportunity to utilize the charging station and to reduce unnecessary wait times.

19. How long does it take to charge a 2016 model year Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid?

You can charge a fully depleted C-MAX Energi at a Level 2 (240V) charging station in approximately 2.5 hours.

20. Can I use the EV 1-2-3 Charge Access Card to DC fast charge another car?

No. Because your 2016 model year C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid does not include the DC fast charge option, you will incur a fee for charging another vehicle and may forfeit your remaining program benefits.

21. What should I do if I have trouble enrolling, activating or lost my EV 1-2-3 Charge Access Card?

Please locate your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and call NRG EVgo dedicated customer service support team at 1-855-509-5584. Your VIN can be found on the bottom corner of the windshield on the driver’s side, on the vehicle certification label on the inside of the driver’s door, or on your vehicle registration documentation.

22. What should I do if I have questions regarding a bill?

Again, EV 1-2-3 Charge provides unlimited* four-hour sessions of complimentary Level 2 (240V) charging at participating charging stations, for three years. Additional fees will only apply for connect times in excess of 4 hours per session, and there is a 60 minute disconnection period required between charging sessions. A $3.00 an hour charge will incur for each hour you are plugged in after your 4 complimentary hours per charging session.

23. What if I have not received my EV 1-2-3 Charge card and it has been over 10 days?
